Broadband Availability
'Broadband' is the common term for a high bandwidth Internet connection.
A Broadband service, depending on the package you select, can be capable of
transmitting data at up to 40 times the speed of a standard modem. Just as
importantly, it is always 'on' - you don't need to dial up every time you
want to 'log on'.
Just sit down at your computer and the Internet is there!
Please enter your telephone number in the search field below and click 'CHECK' to see if Netnorth
Broadband is available on your line.
NOTE: The number you enter here should be the home or business number you
currently use to dial the Internet with. Remember - Netnorth Broadband lets you
use your phone or fax while being online so you can also check lines you
want to keep free for telephone calls.

Over 60% of telephone exchanges have been ADSL-enabled throughout the UK. You should have the full choice of our broadband products if you're located within 3.5 km of an ADSL-enabled telephone exchange (subject to line survey).
If you're located between 3.5km and 5.5 km of an ADSL-enabled telephone exchange it is now possible, thanks to extended reach technology, that you can have either Business 500 or Business 500PLUS. Download speed isn't affected, but upstream speeds may vary between 64-250kbps. This will be largely unnoticeable to most users since the vast majority of internet access is in the download direction, e.g. surfing, email, file downloading.

A standard BT telephone line (PSTN) an ISDN line, and are ordering an engineer-installed product. All you pay is a conversion charge and we manage the conversion of the ISDN (Home Highway or Business Highway) to ADSL. Should the conversion fail for technical reasons, the line is converted back to the original service for no charge.

ISDN 30 (Home and Business 500 Plug & Go products aren't compatible with any ISDN product)
Red ABC and Red Care (alarm services)
Caller Display CD50 (no known problems with other caller display types)
Private circuits (analogue, KiloStream, MegaSteam)
PBX lines, PBXs (digital switchboards)
Auxiliary lines - one line serving multiple phones
PDQ equipment (credit card swipe machines)
Some new generation faxes may not work as they use some of the same bandwidth frequency as ADSL, making the fax and the ADSL line incompatible with one another. We recommend that you check with your fax manufacturer/supplier before purchasing broadband.
